Grenada Luxury Vacations

Grenada Luxury Vacations

Welcome to Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique – a tri-island state often referred to as the Island of Spice. Located in the Southern Caribbean, we play host to the world’s first Underwater Sculpture Park, cascading waterfalls and white-sand beaches. You will feel instantly welcomed by the open hearted nature of our friendly people, whose smiles and authenticity make Grenada the perfect Caribbean getaway.

Grenada is made up of three main islands - Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Known as the "Isle of Spice", there are more spices here per square mile than any other place. An ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing, tropical vacation, with over 40 white sand beaches with exquisite turquoise waters. Grenada's physical beauty is complemented by its rich history. The island's easy rhythms and the friendly openness of its residents evoke an atmosphere hard to find elsewhere. Average temperatures range from 75ºF to 85ºF (24ºC to 30ºC), tempered by the steady and cooling trade winds.

Location
Grenada, Carriacou, Petite Martinique and its dependencies are located in the eastern Caribbean, south of the Windward Islands and 100 miles north of Venezuela. Neighboring islands St. Vincent and the Grenadines lie to the north and Trinidad and Tobago lie to the South.

Climate
Average temperatures range from 75 degrees F to 85 degrees F (24 degrees C to 30 degrees C), with a cool breeze. The lowest temperatures occur between November and February. Although the climate is warm all year round, we do experience some seasonal changes depending on altitude. The dry season is between January and May and the rainy season is from June to December.

Entry Requirements
If you are visiting our islands, you must have a valid passport and return or onward ticket. However, if you are a British, Canadian or US citizen, proof of citizenship bearing a photograph is acceptable. Please remember however, that as mandated by the United States Department of Homeland Security, all US travellers must provide a passport to enter or reenter the US for both vacation and business travel.

A visa is not required for citizens of the US, Canada, UK, British Commonwealth, South Korea, Japan and most Caribbean and European countries. It may be best to familiarize yourself with the complete list of persons requiring visas and persons exempt from visas.

Discover Carriacou
Carriacou and Petite Martinique boast the most beautiful coral reefs. Carriacou – the larger of the two – is known as the ‘Land of Reefs’, with shallow clear waters: ideal for snorkeling. Occupants of both islands are independent and fiercely traditional. On Carriacou – home to 8,000 people – the musical customs of their African ancestors can be experienced at the Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music Festival held in the month of April.

French settlers were the first on Petite Martinique, which is an island not phased by modernity. Petite Martiniquians make their livelihood from boat-building and fishing – a skill they have mastered, which is fascinating to hear about and witness. If you’re seeking a more authentic experience, a short trip by ferry or local aircraft will transport you to the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
