Elewana Serengeti Migration Campfrom
Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp is the epitome of the luxury camp experience, lining the banks of the Grumeti River, where pods of hippos are a daily sight. This is also the path of the Great Migration, which occurs April to June and October to December, affording views of wildebeest as far as the eye can see.
Recognizing the value of time well spent with family and friends, the Elewana Collection introduces discerning travelers to East Africa through impeccably designed lodges that invite true relaxation, as well as the thrill of a real adventure. Complementing their locations in prime game-viewing areas, on quiet white-sand beaches or even in a coffee plantation, are lavish comforts, including fresh cotton sheets, elegant rooms and gourmet meals. Family-friendly, individually styled and exuding warm and personalized hospitality, the lodges are a savvy blend of high-class safari and low-impact tourism. Guests are encouraged to become part of the local community and conservation projects, thereby returning home with a piece of East Africa instilled in their hearts forever.

Twenty large, elevated, canvas en suite tents, each with hardwood floors and luxurious furnishings, play host to Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp guests. There’s the feel of a stately hotel room, yet with canvas walls that let in the sounds of the African bush. Expansive, 360-degree views from large wrap-around verandas take in the surrounding wildlife-rich plains.
Guests are encouraged to gather in the spacious open-plan lounge, dining room with a large balcony and a Serengeti sunset viewing platform complete with a cozy campfire. There’s a large swimming pool for refreshing dips after the heat of the day. WiFi is provided in the main lounge and there are in-room charging facilities. A children’s menu and laundry service are also available.
Perhaps the main draw here is the chance to enjoy a “private migration,” viewing the hundreds of thousands of wildebeest that amass on the landscape during migration months from a secluded spot in north central Serengeti. Guests may also opt for a game drive from camp to the Mara River, one of the sites of the famed frenetic migration river crossings, or a walk along the banks of the Grumeti River to spot hippos, birds, crocodiles and terrapins. Balloon safaris are on the menu, as is the ever-present opportunity to glimpse the Big 5 and more than 500 species of bird. Children are entertained with guided camp nature walks, swimming, mask and jewelry making and roasting marshmallows over the campfire.
Dining is arranged on an individual basis and is always flexible. Breakfast is served from an à la carte menu, while lunch and dinner feature a table d’hôte menu complemented by a premium wine list. Game drives include picnic breakfasts and lunches. A children’s menu is available.
